1) Game of Thrones - I think you already knew that, everybody loves GoT, what not to love about rape, murder, pyromancy and dragons? Well.. there is more to it. I love GoT because it shows how the world really spins, around money and around power. It shows how cruel can a man or woman became to save someone loved, it shows how monstruos can became to have your revange, it shows thet true face of people, of society, and its scarry because despite the dragons, undead etc, its real. These kind of actions applies today in the modern society , everyone backstabs everyone for insignificat or kinda big deal reasons : money, power, women, favors, revenge. It is not just that. We can see this mad, mad world from all kinds of perspective: from the eyes of kings, mothers, slaves, warriors etc and it frightens us because we see the true nature of men. If you haven't watched it I highly recommend it. It will open your eyes a bit.
2) Fringe - crime , science and a bit of humor. Parallel universe, intra-dimensional invasions, wars, plagues, whatever you sick mind can think of it exists in this universe. From a father who lost his little boy to a full scale invasion and lack of privacy for all human beings. It is scary how things evolve. From crime-solving to surviving.
3) Lost - I survived a plane crash, I think I can survive on this island. But the real question is: did you actually survived the crash? Lost is a full time enigma, the more you know the more questions you have. When you think you figured something , well you actually didn't. Every episode is fresh, lots and lots of memories, but with a single purpose: to mess with your head.
